“And the winner is… David… Cook!” Ryan Seacrest announced, the crowd screamed with all kinds of joy and excitement. It was euphoric! But that was a month and many, many interviews ago. Now the final two were seeing each other off before they head home for some much needed rest and rejuvenation.

Home is where the heart is 3“Where are you?” Jeff answered his wife's phone with suspicion in his voice, seeing that it was David who was calling.  David froze for a second and quickly hung up in panic. “What is dad doing with mom's phone? Does he know?”

Jeff heard the call end and closed the phone, letting out a heavy sigh.

David placed his phone on the table and took a step back. He was getting nervous now. “I think I need a shower to calm myself.” He got out a change of clothes and his own shampoo and body wash from his bags and headed for Cook's bathroom.

8:45 a.m back in Utah, Mrs. Archuleta was jarred from her sleep, feeling something wasn't right. She felt something clamped in her hand and opened it to find a piece of paper with writing on it.
“Mom, I've gone to stay with Cook for a few days, but don't tell dad please. I just need some time to think. You know how busy it's been for me the past few months.
